September 11 Memorial Picture

• Situated in Battery Park, the departure point for ferry trips to the Statue of Liberty, is the World Trade Centre Memorial and Eternal Flame. Ironically Fritz Koenig's "The Sphere" stood until damaged on September 11 2001, a symbol of world peace, in the plaza of the World Trade Centre.
